    Kirriemuir Camera Obscura is one of only 3 functioning camera obscuras in Scotland. Housed in the historic Barrie Cricket Pavilion on Kirrie Hill (now a volunteer run cafe) it was gifted to the town by Peter Pan author J. M. Barrie, and projects 360 degree panoramic views of the surrounding Angus countryside onto a viewing table

    Kirrie Connections will be opening their doors to visitors as part of the Celebrate Kirriemuir Day.

    A Meeting Centre is a social club operating out of local community buildings that offers ongoing warm and friendly expert support to people living with a cognitive impairment or mild to moderate dementia, and their families and care partners.

    Kirrie Connections is home to the very first Meeting Centre in Scotland.

    Tea, Coffees, and possibly a few tasty cakes and sweet treats will be on offer too.

    You are always sure of a warm welcome at Kirrie Connections, and we would love the opprtunity to show you round our Meeting Centre. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about Kirrie Connections and what we can offer.

    Try your hand at indoor bowling or curling. Step out into the garden for a stroll , try table tennis or archery, or just sit with a cuppy for a chat.

    Veronica from Elevate & Sustain, and Sound Therapy by Pav will be delivering wellness taster sessions from the tranquil surroundings of Logie Estate on the edge of Kirriemuir.

    Core Mixed Method (45 minutes)

    A fusion of Pilates, Yoga and Tai Chi Qigong Techniques which aims to focus on the core elements of all three practices to maximise benefits, encouraging strength, rejuvenation and relaxation.

    Qigong & Soundbath fusion with Sound Therapy By Pav (45 minutes)

    30 minutes of Tai Chi Qigong accompanied by the sounds of Tibetan singing bowls, gong and wind chimes, followed by 15 minutes of pure sound bath experience.

    All sessions are free with an option to donate what you can on the day.

    The only grade ‘A’ listed building in Kirriemuir , will be OPEN to visitors from 10am until 1pm on Saturday May 30th.

    Designed by Sir Ninian Comper this building has beautiful stained glass windows and was the location of the author, J M Barrie’s funeral.

    An opportunity to visit and then enjoy a cuppy at Sustainable Kirriemuir Community Garden Open Day next door.
