    Kirrie Connections will be opening their doors to visitors as part of the Celebrate Kirriemuir Day.

    A Meeting Centre is a social club operating out of local community buildings that offers ongoing warm and friendly expert support to people living with a cognitive impairment or mild to moderate dementia, and their families and care partners.

    Kirrie Connections is home to the very first Meeting Centre in Scotland.

    Tea, Coffees, and possibly a few tasty cakes and sweet treats will be on offer too.

    You are always sure of a warm welcome at Kirrie Connections, and we would love the opprtunity to show you round our Meeting Centre. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about Kirrie Connections and what we can offer.

    Try your hand at indoor bowling or curling. Step out into the garden for a stroll , try table tennis or archery, or just sit with a cuppy for a chat.

    An opportunity to visit this jewel of modern architecture, built to replace a smaller, wooden structure on the other side of town.

    Designed by local architect James F Stephen and opened in 1987.

    Kirriemuir Community Fire Station will be taking part in ‘Celebrate Kirriemuir’ by inviting you into the Fire Station between 10am – 12 noon.

    Everyone welcome to learn about SFRS, Kirriemuir Fire Station, Fire Safety, meet your ”local heroes” and see the equipment they use in emergencies

  • Camera Obscura And Pavilion Cafe

    OPEN on Saturday May 30th 11.30am – 4.30pm

    Kirriemuir Camera Obscura is one of only 3 functioning camera obscuras in Scotland. Housed in the historic Barrie Cricket Pavilion on Kirrie Hill (now a volunteer run cafe) it was gifted to the town by Peter Pan author J. M. Barrie, and projects 360 degree panoramic views of the surrounding Angus countryside onto a viewing table
